Fantasy and dark fantasy illustrator
My name is Roberta.
I am an illustrator based in the UK, working mainly with traditional media.
My work focuses on fantasy and dark fantasy illustration, with particular attention to characters, mood, and atmosphere. I’m especially interested in how expression, posture, and physical presence can convey personality, history, and emotion.
I enjoy working with ink and hand-drawn techniques, valuing precision, texture, and the imperfect, tactile quality of traditional illustration.
I’ve always been drawn to dark, character-driven stories.
Manga such as Berserk and Hokuto no Ken influenced the way I think about characters, how strength and vulnerability can exist at the same time, and how a person’s past can be visible in their body language and presence.
Videogames like Dragon Age and Dark Souls shaped my interest in atmosphere and emotional weight.
I also enjoy tabletop role-playing games like Dungeons & Dragons, which influenced how I build characters, paying attention to their story, flaws, and personality.
I’m drawn to characters defined not by perfection, but by resilience, loss, and quiet determination.
